Effective Date: October 27, 2026
Cube Solver is developed and operated by Patrick Battisti Forsthofer. This policy explains how the Cube Solver app, website, and related services handle information, including camera scans, scan-improvement data, analytics, purchases, and advertising. Available features and data processing can differ by app version, region, device settings, and the features enabled for your app.
When you use camera scanning, Cube Solver may collect and upload images of your cube, related scan information, and diagnostic data. We use this information to provide scanning and solving, investigate problems, and develop, test, and train our recognition and repair technology.
Where scan-improvement collection is enabled, uploads may occur in the background, including when a solve is processed on your device or does not complete. Please avoid including people, documents, or other private information in your scans.
The developer and our hosting and storage providers may process these records for those purposes. Scan images are not shared with advertisers or used for ad targeting. Retention, deletion, and privacy choices are explained below.
To operate, secure, and improve the service, we and our service providers may process IP addresses, device and operating-system information, app versions and configuration, pseudonymous app or installation identifiers, interaction timestamps, feature usage, performance information, and crash or diagnostic reports. Network providers may receive your IP address when you connect to a service.
Apple handles App Store payments. The app may process product and transaction identifiers, subscription or trial status, purchase dates and prices, and an app account token to verify access, restore purchases, and measure purchase activity. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Apple. If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send.
When advertising is enabled, Cube Solver uses Google AdMob and Google Mobile Ads to request and display ads and measure their operation. Google may process IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, device or app identifiers, ad views and interactions, and crash and performance data. The data and use depend on your region, device permissions, privacy choices, and the ad-serving mode. Limited or non-personalized ads can still involve data processing, including delivery, measurement, security, and fraud prevention. Any use of a device advertising identifier for tracking is subject to applicable device permissions.
Google User Messaging Platform helps determine applicable ad privacy requirements and provides privacy-choice interfaces where available. When the app shows an "Ad privacy options" entry in Settings, you can use it to review or change the choices Google makes available for your region.

We share information as needed to provide these services, protect the service, comply with legal obligations, or respond to a lawful request. We do not sell uploaded cube photographs.
Uploaded scan images and linked records do not currently have a single fixed automatic expiry period. We retain them for the investigation, development, evaluation, and training purposes described above. You can ask us to delete records relating to you or object to their further use by contacting us. Information that helps locate a scan, such as its approximate date and time, may be needed because scans do not require a named user account.
Other service, purchase, security, and support records are kept for as long as needed for their stated purposes and applicable legal obligations. Service providers may retain information under their own settings and policies. Irreversibly de-identified or aggregate information that can no longer be associated with you may be retained. Removing the app does not itself delete information already sent to a server or service provider.
You can change camera permission in your device settings. Revoking it prevents new camera captures; manually entering cube colors avoids taking new scan photographs. These actions do not recall information already uploaded or necessarily stop requests already queued. Use the app's available ad privacy options and your device's privacy and tracking settings to manage advertising permissions and choices. Changing a permission or choice does not automatically delete previously collected data.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us to exercise these rights, request that scan data no longer be used for training, or raise a privacy concern. We will review your request and may need information to locate the relevant records or verify your authority to make it. You may also contact your local data protection authority. This policy explains processing; it does not replace any permission or consent required for that processing.
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Their linked privacy information explains their international processing and safeguards. If you are a parent or guardian concerned about information submitted by a child, please contact us so we can review the information and an appropriate deletion request.
We use HTTPS for service requests and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Please avoid including private information in scan photographs or unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.
We may update this policy as features and processing change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Review this page periodically for changes.
